Lingua Franca:
Globish: This theory was devised by Robert McCrum. In his book, he said that a new, more functional English has emerged in the last 20 years. It is a more basic, restricted version of English, devoid of nuances. Globish is a simplified version of English that acts as a ‘lingua franca’ between speakers of different languages. Globish generally has simplified grammar and syntax since its main goal is to allow speakers to communicate a general message that is easily understood. Globish is often thought of as a ‘language of phrases’, where instead of having a solid language structure, common and simplified phrases are used abundantly.
